Minutes – August 2014

The CVHOA board meeting was held on August 19, 2014, with Scott Auger presiding. Present for the meeting were Rosanne Nagy, Zsolt Nagy, Mary Hinson, Cecil Hinson, Gary Bulman, Lauren Earnhardt, and Joan Purvis.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The treasurer’s report showed a General Fund balance of $3,966.73, Money Market balance of $15,652.08, for a total of $19,618.81. The report was approved.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 12, 2014. This will be the CVHOA General Meeting for 2014.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.

Minutes – July 2014

The CVHOA board meeting was held on July 15, 2014, with Scott Auger presiding.  Present for the meeting were Rosanne Nagy, Mary Hinson, Cecil Hinson, Waite Warren, Vickie Barnes, Gary Bulman, William Earnhardt, and Joan Purvis.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The treasurer’s report showed a General Fund balance of $3,966.73, Money Market balance of $15,652.08, for a total of $19,618.81. The report was approved. Rosanne reported that the signature card at the bank needs to updated to reflect Lauren Earnhardt as the newly elected Treasurer. Either Scott or Mary Hinson will be needed to accompany her for the signature process.

Vickie announced that the dues notices will be mailed out this week.

Scott stated that we need to continue our efforts to increase the membership numbers and that he would like to step down as Vice President/Acting President by the end of this year.

The next CVHOA Board meeting is scheduled for August 19, 2014. This will give sufficient time to plan for the neighborhood get together in September. Zsolt Nagy will be asked whether this should include a lake clean-up day in addition to the picnic.

Minutes – May 2014

The CVHOA board meeting was held on May 20, 2014, with Zsolt Nagy  presiding. Present for the meeting were Zsolt Nagy, Mary Hinson, Cecil Hinson, and Joan Purvis.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The treasurer’s report showed a General Fund balance of $5,166.73, Money Market balance of $15,651.30, for a total of $20,818.03. The report was approved.

The board gave unanimous approval to the election of Lauren Earnhart to replace Rosanne Nagy as Treasurer. Scott Auger voted his approval via email. The board officers are as follows:

  • President – Vacant
  • Vice President – Scott Auger (Acting President)
  • Treasurer – Lauren Earnhardt
  • Secretary – Mary Hinson

The board agreed that a concerted effort is needed to attract more members and fill the vacancy as President.

Zsolt reviewed the items listed as needing attention following the walk-around on March 15. Fourteen items were noted (attached) and will be addressed. Equinox will be asked to give an estimate of the cost to fill in the large hole on Warren and Coronado. They will also be asked to estimate the cost of tree removal and pruning as noted.

Mr. Depoy has moved zoysia grass to areas needing filling.

The next CVHOA Board meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2014.

Minutes – March 2014

The CVHOA board meeting was held on March 14, 2014, with Scott Auger presiding. Present for the meeting were Rosanne Nagy, Zsolt Nagy, Mary Hinson, Cecil Hinson, Waite Warren, Joan Purvis, Scott Auger, and William and Lauren Earnhardt.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The treasurer’s report showed a General Fund balance of $4,066.73, Money Market balance of $15,650.51, for a total of $19,717.24.  The report was approved.

Zsolt reported that Equinox will begin mowing soon. He asked board members to join him for a walk-around to survey the lake areas to identify any areas needing clean-up or repairs. The Earnhardts will assume caretaker responsibility for the Ralph Drive planted area.

Cecil will review the Emergency Action Plan and note if any updating is needed. It was noted that the dam has a low-level release to prevent overflow.

Lauren presented the flyer announcing the neighborhood get together on Saturday, April 12. Joan has paper products and Mary will provide a sign-up sheet for those attending.

William noted that the old NCSU website it still running and the board recommended it be taken down as soon as possible.

The memorial service for Billie Loftus will be held on Saturday, March 21 at Brown Wynn Funeral Home.

The next CVHOA Board meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2014.

Minutes – January 2014

The CVHOA board meeting was held on January 14, 2014, with Scott Auger presiding. Present for the meeting were Rosanne Nagy, Zsolt Nagy, Mary Hinson, Cecil Hinson, Waite Warren, Joan Purvis, Scott Auger, Michael Lalich, and William and Lauren Earnhardt.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

The treasurer’s report showed a General Fund balance of $1,953.73, Money Market balance of $15,649.75, for a total of $17,603.48. The 2014 budget was presented and approved. Landscape service is on schedule and will include needed tree service. Rosanne announced that she will continue to serve as Treasurer until a replacement is in place.

The list of email addresses is being taken and will be completed soon. Bill Earnhardt will prepare a master list in coordination with Vickie and Ed Barnes.

Michael introduced an idea for soliciting donations to a “Friend of the Pond” fund. People visiting the pond to fish could be encouraged to donate to a maintenance fund which would be published on the Cary Citizens website. Waite discussed issues around this upkeep and if the board will run into problems since our membership numbers are so small.

Gary noted that we need a neighborhood get-together this spring and recommended that it be a social event. The board agreed on April 12 for this event. Bill and Lauren Earnhardt volunteered to work on planning.

Zsolt presented old files from CVHOA and Bill volunteered to scan these for a permanent record. The emergency plan and Town of Cary contribution to the dam repair were reviewed.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
